Characters:

Niko Bellic:
Niko is eastern european that comes to america to follow his cousin Roman in the American Dream. When he gets here he becomes tangled up in Roman's debt, once they get out of that problem they spend time trying to find a person Niko blames for an ambush when he was in the army. The whole game is featured around this character and his adventures and missions to get to the top. He seems well versed in nearly every type of weapon or vehicle.

Roman Bellic:
Roman is Niko's cousin and the reason Niko came to America. He used to write Niko letters about how many girls were around and how amazing his life was living the American Dream, when Niko came to America however he found the letters were rather exhagerated. Roman is a bafoon, and mostly comedic relief. He gets into trouble a lot causing you to go rescue him, but when the cab shop burns down it is his girlfriend that takes both Roman and Niko in. At the end of the game one of the choices you have to make will ultimately decide if Roman lives or dies.

Mikhail Faustin:
Mr. Faustin is one of the major mob bosses in Liberty City. He runs a lot of the underbelly of society and Niko gets caught up with him after killing someone who works for him. Luckily rather than kill Niko Mikhail puts him to work, unlucky for Mikhail eventually Niko will shoot him. There is a problem when Mikhail, who is strung out on coke, orders Niko to kill the son of another mob boss and then this guy will kill you unless you kill him. Its a tangled web we weave, obviously.

Dimitri Rascalov:
Dimitri is Mikhail's second in command. He is the one that tells you that you have to kill Mikhail, and the person who tries to stop you from killing the other mob bosses son. When all is said and done Dimitri goes to work for another man, who turns out to be a guy from the old country who you owe a LOT of money to. So after you kill his boss for him, he turns around and tries to kill you a few times for his new boss and the debt you owe him. Dimitri is more of a smart guy than anyone else in the game, he thinks descisions through and when he tries to kill you it is generally the hardest to get out of alive.

Little Jacob:
Little jacob is a character you cannot understand unless you have subtitles turned on. He is a jamacan arms dealler and helps Niko with starting up cash by giving him some drug running to do. You drive weed to people within a certain ammount of time, kinda like a taxi driver in crazy taxi. He eventually comes to be your mobile weapons dealer, when you become friends with him enough you can call him up and he will come deliver weapons to you at a discounted cost, rather than you having to find the back ally stores.

Bruice:
Bruice is a steroided out freak of a man who is really into cars. Every scene with him made me want to shoot myself because of the hyped up way he talked and how he was always doing push-ups. He is definietely the "VIP" of the world, if he has anything to say about it. He is loud and will never be afraid to show you how much cash he has, Oh and he has a helicopter and won't let you forget it. He gives Niko some races to earn extra cash, and when you become friends with him enough he will give you rides in his hellicopter when ever you call him.

Packie:
Packie is one of the members of the Irsih gangs of Liberty City, and actually the brother to Frances McRreary. While Frances took the "good side" Packie is a drug dealer and small times arms pusher. Packie gets you into some of the more big time trouble, and you meet him towards the end of the game. The option where you don't get Roman killed actually results in his sister's death. When you become friends with him he doesn't give you any special help, but is one of the people who furthers you into the end of the story.

Dwayne:
Dwayne is an ex-con that gets out of the pen and is quite "troubled" as you can see from his picture. He is constantly trying to commit suicide because none of his boys will hang with him any more, and one took his girlfriend while he was in jail. He does eventually stop being so emo and rounds up his own gang of thugs. He used to own a strip club on the west side of town so one of your missions is to go in and shoot up the place and return it to Dwayne's ownership. When you know him long enough he will be just a phone call away for thug backup, incase you cant finish a mission they will help.

Frances McReary:
Frances is a cop. Or, so he claims, more of a crooked cop that hires you to kill off some guy who has something of blackmail on Frances. He is one of the McReary brothers, and the only one to go "straight" even though he is probably the most crooked official ever known. He is another one of the major factors into the end of the game as he is the one who finds the guy your looking for, the whole reason why you came to Liberty City. He never becomes a friend, simply someone you go to in order to get missions, but he is a prick anyway and you wouldn't want to hang with him regardless.
